"This hotel was a bad experience all around. The television had no sound and it took over 30 minutes for someone to show up to fix it (replace it). I had my two boys with me and they spotted the pool table in the room on the first floor. I was advised that they needed to be accompanied by an adult and I agreed. However, they ventured down there on their own and was rudely yelled at by the woman behind the counter. Later, I took them down myself so they could play and she rushed over to tell me they had to leave by 9:30 p.m. regardless of my presence. They played for about 10 minutes. The restaurant located inside the hotel had, possibly, the worst food I have ever experienced. My son's hamburger was like leather and my roast beef sandwich was cold in the center and nearly broke my tooth from the toughness. The hotel staff tended to have an attitude and was very short with answers to basic questions. They did nothing to make us feel at comfortable--just a cold aire about them. Only the maintenance men that replace the TV were friendly and apologetic. I travel a lot and to this area once a month. At any given week members of my team will visit the area and I intend to steer them away from staying at the El Grande Best Western in Clearlake, CA."
